Dried Morel Lot Information: A Practical Traceability Checklist

Connect morel samples, specifications, packing marks and receiving records through a clear lot-information request.

Lot information helps connect what a buyer reviewed with what it receives. Its practical value depends on the records available and the way both parties use them. Instead of assuming that the word “traceable” describes a complete system, ask which identifiers and supporting details can be provided for the proposed morel order.

Define the information your team needs

Start with the receiving and product-review tasks inside your business. Your team may need a supplier lot reference, product description, origin information and a link to the agreed specification. Put these needs in the inquiry. The supplier can then confirm what information exists and how it will be presented, rather than discovering the request after the product is packed.

Connect the sample to the proposed lot

If you review a sample, record the information supplied with it and ask how it relates to the proposed shipment. A product-type example is different from a sample representing a particular lot. Request clarification if the source or lot changes between sample review and order confirmation. Keep the response with your approval record so the purchasing team can follow the decision.

Align documents and pack identification

Ask how the lot reference will appear on inner packs, cartons and available supporting records. Review whether the descriptions are consistent. A test report, if requested and available, needs to be assessed for what product or sample it actually covers. The presence of a report alone does not answer every question about the shipment or replace an agreed inspection approach.

Plan receiving records before delivery

Give the receiving team the approved product specification, packing description and relevant references. Agree what should be checked when the delivery arrives and how discrepancies will be recorded. Keep observations factual: identify the pack or lot, photograph the issue and compare it with the agreed criterion. The contract should address how any concerns will be raised and resolved.

Confirm availability rather than assuming a guarantee

Dianbei Select can discuss your lot-information request with its cooperating growers. Specific growing-location records, harvest details, tests and other documents must be confirmed for the proposed order. This website does not claim a certified traceability system. A precise request and a written response are the starting point for understanding the information available to your team.

Your purchasing checklist

  • Lot-information needs stated before ordering
  • Sample relationship documented
  • Pack marks and records checked for consistency
  • Receiving and discrepancy records planned
